Helpers

How can I become a helper?

By means of a donation of €250 per week (maximum four consecutive weeks) you will stay on a spacious 53ft trimaran. You are required to lend a helping hand half of the days booked to help with the reconstruction. But there is also room for relaxation. Because the other half of the days we go sailing and visit islands. You are of course free to book an extra holiday before or after.

The distribution of working and sailing days is determined by the helpers on the boat (the majority decides). Below you will find a few examples. But we are in for many variants.

What is expected of me?

We help on the basis of supply and demand, looking at what is most urgent at the time. So if the school is more important than the library, we help build the school first and later the library. We also offer help with building homes or cleaning up clutter on the street, in parks or other places. We also help with personal matters such as (re) building an existence or setting up a small business.

Of course we discuss what you can handle, but it is clear that some tasks are difficult. That is why it is good to clearly indicate where your strengths and weaknesses lie when booking. We assist you in making sure everything runs smoothly.

How are we going to relax?

Sailing is relaxing. But lying comfortably in a harbor and reading a book or sunbathing is also great to do.

No specific knowledge is required for sailing. The skipper is experienced and will help you perform tasks on board. Enjoyment is the main goal. But if you want to gain more experience with all aspects of sailing, the skipper offers ample opportunity to do so. If you are experienced yourself, you may want to give the skipper his hare’s sleep.
