Who are we?
The Caribbean Hurricane Helpers is a foundation with the aim of:
“Offering help in the Caribbean after hurricane damage and doing everything related to it or that may be conductive to it.”
Why are we doing this?
The Caribbean is hit by hurricanes every year. The islands that are close to our heart are also involved. The money we raise, through donations, is spent on providing voluntary assistance.
What are we doing?
We help on the basis of supply and demand, whereby we look at what is most urgent at that time. So if the school is more important than the library, we first help rebuild the school and later the library. We also offer assistance with building homes or cleaning up junk on the street, in parks or other places. We also help with personal matters such as (re) building an existence or setting up a small business.
When do we do this?
After a hurricane has left a trail of destruction, first aid often gets going quickly. Other organizations then offer direct assistance by filling in basic necessities such as water, food and medical assistance. And just like with a birth of a child or moving into a new home, the attention for help diminishes after a while.
We will come after the storm has subsided. Then we come into action and it is time for reconstruction.
How do we do this?
Of course, money is needed to achieve all this. We can already achieve a lot with donations. There are various options for donating. This offers you the possibility to choose the type that suits you.
But we do more!
We offer a helping hand to anyone who can use help.
We do this on a voluntary basis with the help of ‘Helpers’, where we combine work and pleasure.
How can I become a helper?
By means of a donation of €250 per week (maximum four consecutive weeks) you will stay on a spacious 53ft trimaran. You are required to lend a helping hand half of the days booked to help with the reconstruction. But there is also room for relaxation. Because the other half of the days we go sailing and visit islands. Go to the Helpers page for more details and reservation.

Gold A donation of €5,000 per year results in a listing on our main page and donors page. In addition, a banner (76 × 122 cm) will be placed on the railing of the boat with your name and logo.
Silver A donation of €2,500 per year results in a mention on our main page and donors page.
Bronze A donation of €1,000 per year results in a mention on our donors page.
